While that roadmap has not yet appeared, the announcement of a new and comprehensive patch has been detailed for Marvel’s Avengers. Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix revealed that Patch 2.3 will effectively reprise Nick Fury and restructure the War Table to streamline Marvel’s Avengers’ mission selection process. The new update will also rebalance gear to make more builds viable. Until recently, Marvel’s Avengers’ Patch 2.3 was supposed to launch tomorrow, March 24. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case.

As more MCU-inspired skins are offered in Marvel’s Avengers’ Marketplace, Patch 2.3 has been pushed back to an undisclosed date. The patch has been delayed to ensure that the “tuning and mission on-boarding are ready-to-go” for when it eventually does go live, and it is stated that its future release date will be shared as soon as it can be confirmed. Many players will be happy to know that the developers wish for it launch with an ideal quality, but of course there will be players who are upset and want to see these updates sooner rather than later.
Marvel’s Avengers’ Patch 2.3 is certainly ambitious as a comprehensive means of readjusting many features and UX concerns in Marvel’s Avengers. The War Table, for example, is set to improve the functionality of mission selections throughout Drop Zones, Threat Sectors, Hives, Villain Sectors, HARM Rooms, and more. Further, Nick Fury’s reintegration is provided as an on-boarding service for newer players with narration instead of JARVIS or Maria Hill at the start of the Avengers Initiative, and hopes to smooth out that introduction for players in general.
Players have discussed in multiple forums what their issues are with Marvel’s Avengers’ current gameplay loops, and it is exciting that the developers are intently listening with the goal of making these changes in the future. It may take a while longer than fans had hoped to see the new update launch, but it will hopefully be worth it when it does.
Still, Marvel’s Avengers’ next roadmap is what fans are truly anticipating. Depending on what content is advertised for the remainder of 2022, it will likely make or break players’ expectations for what the game will introduce or change in the future.
