Marvel’s Midnight Suns released a new 30-second clip showing Doctor Strange in action. Interestingly enough, it shows Doctor Strange in his official Midnight Suns outfit instead of his traditional garb (which he will begin the game with), and it shows off some seemingly damage-oriented spells, where he summons a giant black skull that shoots some form of ray, a tornado attack, and what appears to be a massive nova-like explosion. It’s a short, but sweet, look at the Sorcerer Supreme.

It should be noted that, during our preview of Marvel’s Midnight Suns, Doctor Strange’s abilities were more support-oriented. Some of the abilities shown off in this trailer fall in line with that playstyle, but some of these definitely seem more like a damage-dealing approach to the doc. Given how players can mix and match abilities in Marvel’s Midnight Suns, it’s possible this is another viable build for the character, expanding on his initially available archetype. After all, creative director Jake Solomon talked about how each of these characters begin powerful in the game and then must be dialed to 11 in gameplay to really sell the superhero fantasy.
Of course, Doctor Strange is but one of many characters coming to the game. The Marvel’s Midnight Suns character roster revealed so far includes the customizable hero The Hunter, Captain Marvel, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Blade, Ghost Rider, Magik, Nico Minoru, Captain America, Wolverine, Spider-Man, and Scarlet Witch. This means there’s a lot more to show before the game releases.
Furthermore, it should be noted that there is one more hero that Marvel’s Midnight Suns has yet to show off. Perhaps this series will end with their reveal, or perhaps fans will have to wait for the game. All Jake Solomon would say about this last Marvel’s Midnight Suns character is that players have to beat the game to unlock them. This is incredibly enticing, but then again, Marvel’s Midnight Suns as a whole is looking great from narrative to each individual character like Doctor Strange.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns releases October 7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
