This new list does contain the characters initially leaked in a separate post last week, though Reddit user Rikurikumore goes a step further once again to not only add additional characters to the mix, but report on Capcom’s seasonal plans to add future content as well. Players who would rather be surprised by the announcements as they come are advised to turn back, though the fully leaked list can be found below the image.
Capcom
Mega Man X Ryu Chris Morrigan Chun-Li Strider Hiryu Sigma (as DLC) Nemesis Hunter (from Monster Hunter) Rathalos (may have been cut) Arthur Firebrand Leon Kennedy Jedah Nathan Spencer Captain Commando Dante Frank West Asura
Marvel
Iron Man Captain Marvel Captain America Hulk Thor Ultron Hawkeye Rocket (Groot is now part of his moveset) Spider-Man Doctor Octopus Venom (planned as DLC) Songbird Ms. Marvel Ant-Man Thanos Black Panther Doctor Strange Star-Lord Black Widow
One thing to note about this latest roster leak is that it isn’t representative of the launch roster. Rikurikumore made sure to confirm that his source mentioned a few of the characters above, such as Venom, would arrive later.
Speaking of DLC, it appears that Capcom is planning to make Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite very reliant on seasonal DLC. Unlike Street Fighter 5, however, which adds six characters throughout a year, Infinite will have a much shorter cadence, releasing new seasons of themed content every three months or so. A few details regarding the first couple of seasons were also included:
Fantastic Four vs Darkstalkers - This is likely an 8 character pack featuring the likes of Doctor Doom, Silver Surfer, Super-Skrull, Felicia and Talbain to name a few. X-Men vs Street Fighter - While not much was mentioned for this pack, it supposedly only includes six characters with Wolverine, Cyclops, and Deadpool making up the Marvel side of it.
Based on the first round of leaks, many fans seemed to be disappointed by the launch roster, which featured many characters from Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, and omitted many fan favorites from the base roster like Wolverine. With these planned seasonal packs, it appears that Capcom does plan to satisfy its user base by adding requested characters over time.
If the leaks are indeed true, are you okay with this DLC heavy route for the game?
Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite launches for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on September 19, 2017.
