The concept of humans being treated as an alien presence seems to have been confirmed when, earlier today, BioWare released three minutes of pre-alpha gameplay footage which showcased the main character going through a world filled with totally alien technology. Despite only being three minutes of footage, it was enough to get plenty of gamers excited about Mass Effect: Andromeda’s upcoming release.

Additionally, two tweets from the official Mass Effect Twitter have indicated when fans can expect to learn more details about Mass Effect: Andromeda. Shortly after the pre-alpha footage debuted, the Mass Effect Twitter account posted, “[On] N7-Day we’ll show a new trailer and officially open the doors to the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe.” N-7 day, or November 7th, is viewed as Mass Effect day by fans of the game, and seems a fitting date for Bioware to make their next big reveal.

When fans barraged Mass Effect’s Twitter account with questions about what would be revealed on N-7 day, the account posted the following tweet for them to “expect a deep level of customization!” So while the tweets don’t give fans anything concrete to look forward to, it seems that on N-7 day, players will be getting a look at a deeper level of character customization than has existed in the previous games.

So, it appears that Mass Effect: Andromeda will be quite different from the previous Mass Effect games. BioWare has already admitted that they will be moving away from the paragon/renegade morality system in the new game, as well as giving players a slick new jetpack to play around with. As for other details about the game though, it looks like fans will just have to wait until November 7th.  Until then, fans can look forward to the Mass Effect novels that act as a story bridge between the the end of Mass Effect 3 and the beginning of Mass Effect Andromeda.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to release sometime in Q1 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
