Mass Effect 4’s Renegade choices need to improve on those in the original trilogy. In the first three games playing a purely Renegade Shepard can lead to wildly inconsistent characterizations, with Shepard swinging between well-intentioned but expedient pragmatism and utter sadism. Even if the next game does away with morality points, the return of Renegade-style choices seems likely. Mass Effect 4 will need to redefine what it means to be Renegade....

While this decision angered many fans, with some beloved Star Wars characters and story arcs being all but wiped from existence, there’s no denying that some Star Wars Legends content just isn’t all that great. Further, with hundreds of writers and contributors over the years, the timeline did get pretty muddled. Although the team isn’t prepared to reveal specific details as to how these matters of the heart will work, the game’s creative director Mac Walters has stated that he and the developer as a whole want to ensure that romances are more natural and realistic than ever before by featuring different, and more nuanced levels of intimacy....

For those who are currently enjoying using Kate Bishop on the PlayStation 4 version of Marvel’s Avengers, Square Enix has recently made it so PlayStation Plus subscribers can bag some exclusive cosmetics for the character. Currently available on the PS Plus storefront, a new outfit and nameplate are available, alongside 100 free credits to use through the title’s in-game store. The issue cropped up on June 22 with the release of Marvel’s Avengers patch 1.8.0, which included the Cosmic Cube event and other in-game improvements. Players on PS5 updated their game, started it up, and saw that their IP addresses and account names were listed on-screen with no way to turn it off. No other platforms were affected by the issue. Easter eggs, collectibles, side missions, and DLC have all helped to push the narrative that surrounds the main stories forward. These two games have even alluded to other heroes, some of whom would benefit from a game that gives them an equal amount of attention....

Of all the legs of the media empire, Insomniac Games’ wildly popular Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise is starting to feel like the odd one out when it comes to multiversal adventures. To date, the studio has passionately established a somewhat grounded and traditional humanized take on Peter Parker, with the hero’s only brush with interdimensional portals having occurred away from players’ hands in a cross-promotional comic book spin-off. However, one big unmissable clue at the end of the recent No Way Home trailer suggests that could all be about to change sooner than anyone expected....

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is generally considered to be one of the better games to feature Spider-Man. The premise for the game involved multiple versions of Spider-Man from different dimensions trying to keep an amulet out of villainous hands. The game itself was said to be the primary inspiration for Dan Slott’s Spider-Man: Spider-Verse event comic which, in turn, served as the key inspiration for the 2018 film, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse....

It is also unknown whether the symbiote is an established entity in the Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise since it is not explained how Norman Osborn has possession of it. The symbiote seems happily bonded to Norman’s son Harry and can make empathetic connections to Norman through its symbiotic bond, as seen when the symbiote touches the stasis chamber’s glass when Norman approaches. If it somehow transfers to Peter Parker or Miles Morales, however, there is a mechanic from certain editions of Spider-Man 3 that Insomniac should consider in order to demonstrate its separation anxiety....

Strangely enough, one such second chance was apparently used to bring back a set-piece that was cut from 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger. Aside from depicting an honestly pretty awesome alternate timeline where Peggy Carter took the supersoldier serum instead of Steve Rogers, the first episode of What If…? implemented an interesting setting that the original Captain America film ultimately never got to use. Looks like Doctor Strange isn’t the only one who wished he could go back....
